Titanium Fidget Spinner Launch (Kickstarter Countdown…)
The Titanium 'Air' Spinner is *LIVE* on Kickstarter RIGHT NOW:
As I type this it is around 24 hours until the Kickstarter launch for this long awaited titanium fidget spinner.
Again, if you have any questions of comments ...then fire away!
------ Previous Update ------
Yes, it's really happening...
...after months of development
...dozen of prototypes
...millions of YouTube views (yes, really! millions of people watching my fidget spinner videos)
...and hundreds of people asking, pleading, and DEMANDING I make this fidget spinner. It's finally going to be launching very soon:

I plan to launch this spinner on the 26th July on Kickstarter as a crowdfunding project.
If you're already on my email list then you will receive another two to three emails from me over the next week about this spinner (I'll be giving you a little bit of a "sneak preview" of what makes this The World's Best Spinner... 🙂
Here are a couple more shots of this titanium fidget spinner:

Some cool things...
It took loads of prototyping to get to this stage (here are just some of them...)

One of the videos I made -- which was one of the early prototypes -- received over a million views on YouTube in just 3 weeks...

I personally created the final design using top-end 3D CAD software...

This one-of-a-kind titanium spinner will be made entirely here in New Zealand (it will be made between my own workshop and my machinists workshop). Here is the actual Japanese CNC Lathe that part of the spinner will be produced on...
(Random thing: Japan produces, quite probably, the most precise CNC machines in the world. And so we use only Japanese-made machines for production. Not only do I aim to produce the best products ...but I aim to use the best tools to do so as well!)

If you have questions or comments then fire away and I'll try to answer them as best I can (oh, and I may not be able to respond right away as I have my 7-year-old son for the holidays here in New Zealand).
Any comments or questions then write them below and I’ll answer them…
Hey Magnus I’m so excited on the new design! I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while and I just really enjoy your personality and everything you talk about. I missed my opportunity for the previous limited release spinner. Really sad i didn’t get that cause the only spinner I want to own that are premium are ones made by you. I’ll probably back a high tier on Kickstarter ! Can’t wait and keep up the good work dude!
Thank you Matt …it’s comments exactly like that which make me motivated to do more videos!
Hey man I lost interest but you got me really exited about this. Can you get caps that aren’t flush
I agree …lost interest until I saw this
but I might get this one- still prefer the original one showed above especially with non flush cap
I would guess that this would be like the tri-spinner where he said that table top spinning was important to him, so the buttons do stick up enough for that.
Yes, correct David. This will table-spin.
The edge of the button is flush with the body but the top ridge of the button protrudes above the body so it can be spun on a flat surface.
Hi Adam, I’m thinking of offering more “aggressive” caps …will think more about this.
How much is it?and why is it high (If so)
Hi Brandon, not finalised the price …it will be under USD200 though. The price is high relative to, say, plastic spinners or metal Chinese-made spinners …but for somewhat bespoke made spinner from titanium and with the specification/finish/etc then it’s a fairly reasonable price (take a look around online and you should find this is the case).
It it reasonably priced when you compare it to the most expensive spinners… I personally would have bought the prototype that had all the angles, but im not a fan of this one. gl to you though. Time to buy a clone of the angled one. At least now it wont be a clone lol.
Hey Magnus,
This thing looks like a beast and I’m very excited to try and get one of my own, that said, what are the specs on this thing? I have small hands and I want to be sure it wouldn’t be too big for me to use easily!
Hi Averi, thank you for your comment. I believe the length is around 54mm …but I will check this. I’m fairly confident you’ll find this works for you as it’s smaller than most of the spinners out there.
JJ
How to get it and and when it will be available to order ?
Is it still possible to pre order? I have the money to now and I did not when I received the email?
This will be launching next week (keep an eye on the countdown timer at the top of the page).
I am in for so fxxking sure
Hope you the very best. will it be delivered from the UK fed up off paying handling and tax when coming from uk or China.
Ooops I mean when coming from USA
What will be Kickstarter price
I’m just making sure, but I’m on the email list right? [email removed – Magnus]? And also, how much is the spinner?
And is it the same price for double sided and triple sided?
It is only the double-sided on offer with Kickstarter (but, yes, it is a similar price to the tri-spinner on my website).
Yes, you are on the list. The price will start at USD147
Thanks!
You can take me off the list, I’ve ordered a similar spinner off Amazon so I probably won’t get a titanium spinner.
Just backed the kickstarter, so I definitely want one of these spinners, but I was wondering if you would consider making a stonewashed version. The mirror finish that it looks like you are showing off is nice, but this thing is going to live in my pocket. Most likely next to my keys. That finish is going to last all of 2 days.
I thought I’d also mention what drew me to this spinner was it seems to bridge the gap between spinners and worry stones. A lot of the time you can’t really pull a spinner out at work but being able to at least handle it in your pocket is a nice feature. Properly smooth titanium has a real nice and comforting feel to it, a real plus.
Hello Magnus,
it is my pleasure to let you know I’ve received my pen. Seems like the cap is abnormally tight to get off and put on and the cap doesn’t fit over the end.
anything would be welcomed as I’ve loved your other titanium product.
sincerely,
Troy Rubert Esq
How much are they going to be
It’s probably gonna be about $50
Probably closer to $150… The tri-spinner preorder started at that anyway.
Yes, closer to $150.
Hey Magnus I’ve been watching your videos since the Prototype spinner came out I really like the Prototype and I also like the finished piece I was excited but the price is expensive and my dad won’t let me get it because he thinks Spinners are a waste of time well at least I kept track of your time line and watch you build it this is why nobody should keep their hopes up ?
I dont know what to say i want to get one the prototypes ar cool but i do want one plz contact me at [email removed — Magnus] ty @ have a good day.
The project will launch around a week from now. Also, I removed your email address as your email account will get spammed a lot if you put your email up on a website. 🙂
How long do They spin and How much are they?
Not sure of the spin-time yet as I’m still testing bearings. Likely around 3+ minutes. It’s not really designed for long spin-times (doesn’t have the mass).
Can’t wait, I’m very anxious to own
What is the general price going to be for this product. As well I wanted to say nice work. I remmber seeing your promotional video air on yotube months back. GL and keep up the good work.
Will be somewhere under USD200.
I’m pretty sure this has been one of the most anticipated, loved, hated, scrutinized and mysterious spinner release in history haha good on ya Magnus for delivering. Let’s see where this goes.
I think you’re bang-on about that. Some people love it …some people hate it …and I think that means I’m doing something right.
I want one!
Looks awesome and sleek!
im in auckland ,so want have one right now ,cant wait .and how much will be.you in nz so want pay a visit and buy it from your workshop lol
Unfortunately it won’t be ready until later in the year at least. However, if you’re about, then give a shout… happy to meet up.
wow thx for the reply。nice man looks like you at auckland as well. I will wait for it. ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)ᵒᵏᵎᵎᵎᵎ
Are there additional custom duties and taxes payable at the destination address or are all charges incorporated in the DHL shipping fees? As you know, the UK is still part of the EU at the moment, so punative taxes are imposed on goods imported from outside the EU. Only another year and a bit to go until we have our freedom once more!
There can be duties/customs – but it’s not something I pay for on my side unfortunately.
I’m in germany and I like this design very much.
Most of all I’d like you to set this project on the Indiegogo platform too.
I don’t want to pay per creditcard and Indiegogo goes with Paypal !
Hi Frank, IndieGoGo is something I might do at some point …but, for now, Kickstarter is just so much better from the perspective of a Creator.
Could you give me a simple comparison between tri-spinner and bar-spinner?
Could you give me a comparison about between tri-spineer and bar-spinner? and which is your ‘main’ product?
I’ll try and get a side-by-side comparison in 3D CAD soon for you …they are quite different spinners in terms of thickness and size.
Will this finally be one without any bearing play?!
As little play as in crankshaft bearings?
Then we had the ultimate precision toy with spinning times of 30 min+
The bearing play is usually the bearing itself (if we’re talking about the same thing). There needs to be a little play as required by the tolerance of the bearing itself. Not sure if this answers your question though…
What append to the pointed grind on the front that was one of the features I liked and it was on most of the prototypes then it’s gone ??
This still has a little bit of a “point” on each end …but I only put enough of a point as was necessary.
How much are they
Great design and finish! Two questions:
(1) Can this design “Table Spin”
(2) If so – about how how many minutes?
It has been a pleasure to watch another perfectionist strive for nothing but the very best in everything that you produce!
Yes, this can table-spin.
Time is still uncertain. Likely be 3+ minutes though.
How much will it cost?
How much do they cost so I can see of I can get one
Wow u good at making things?. Keep it going.
If you’ve removed the ridge running down the centre of the blade, it must be for a good reason I suppose. Nevertheless, this looks just goooooorgeous. The purity and sensuality of the design… like an Aston Martin :). Beats the Stubby in my Good Looks book.
I would have the same questions as most of the others concerning table spinning and price.
Roll on (or: spin on) launch day!
I got what you intend, regards for posting .Woh I am glad to find this website through google. “Being intelligent is not a felony, but most societies evaluate it as at least a misdemeanor.” by Lazarus Long.
Hello I was just wondering when the cube spinner would be available because that’s the reason I signed up for the newsletter I was under the impression that one was the one you would be making and selling.
Hi Rafael, I do hope to make that one (or one similar to it soon)… but it’s unlikely to be before the end of this year though).
It’s amazing how many people just ask about the price. None of these seems to have followed the process so actually nobody of these actually knows who the maker is and what this spinner is all about and what “kickstarter” means and why the price is *by* *far* the least important information about this spinner. In a few days you can pledge for this spinner on Kickstarter and you will see all prices, depending on how fast you will pledge (if Magnus decides to do Early Bird prices). Please, for god’s sake (and you own), do yourself a favor and go to the product pages where you see the beauty and quality of this exceptional manufacturer’s items, watch a few of the youtube videos, and understand what he is doing and what he stands for. If you don’t care, I guess the price will not help you. As a hint: it will be 3-figure. Now if this lets you cry out “WHY!” we are back to the beginning, the “why” is answered by “what you get and what it took to develop and make it” and to understand that you should do as suggested and start with the background, you might still feel you can’t afford it or you can’t appreciate the “what” part but it’s there, all over the place, trust me.
I’m with you.
I have a hard time understanding so many people can’t just read.
And yet it’s so simple:
“I plan to launch this spinner on the 26th July on Kickstarter”…
Patience is a virtue.
In all fairness …I think for most people (and I include myself here!) we’re so familiar with products from China that it’s pretty much our reference for what we think is the price of things …and what it SHOULD cost to produce it.
When something is made not-in-China …it typically costs a multiple of what it costs to produce in China.
That’s my theory anyway 🙂
Yeh, come on~
I’m in, I really hope you offer different pledges for tumbled/sandblasted /anodized blue, bronze, purple, green etc
How about the giant pill pots. Will those be finished?
Personally I have no interest in a spinner but your previous and hopefully your future products are pretty cool.
Thank you Robert. The giant PillPots should only be a few weeks away.
Looks beautiful design but how do you turn the button if stuck?….Is it all titanium?….And what is the weight in grammes?
I have a method for inserting and removing the buttons that’s not been done before (as far as I am aware). I will show the method on the Kickstarter project.
Hey Magnus, sleek design! I was wondering if you’re planing on having any early bird tiers?
Yes, I will likely have Early Bird Rewards.
Please make sure I’m on that list, I can’t wait to get 1 or 2….
How much does it weight?
Thanks
36 gram (or around 1.25 oz)
Hello, Now Im excited!!! The design is top notce/elegant. Ive been waiting for such a design for a long time, one with flush Buttons/grips thats even with the body, now this is a Pocket Spinner with class!!! Ill definitely back this project and cant wait. Good Luck…..A++++
Great job and thanks for being very meticulous regarding the design. I wish all manufacturers had the same eye to quality. Keep it up brother!
How much play will it have? I’m waiting on a bar style with almost no bearing play:)
There will always be a little play because bearings always have to have a certain amount of “give” so the balls can go around the race.
It reminds me of the iron clad ships from civil war. Ie… css Virginia, because of the slopes and angles. If you need it reviewed hit me up.
I would like to know the specific bearing you will be using in this please?
I’m still deciding on the final bearing – but it will be R188 in size.
Hi Mike,
Can you please add to your email list. Thank you
Ray
Sure thing. Have just done this.
Beautiful!. For people asking why prices are so high? Its economy 101. Prices not set by the producer (in this case Magnus) It seems he is the one who puts prices tag on it, but it’s really not the case. He set the price on $1,000 not so many people will be able to afford it so it won’t sell, He could be selling $10 but it won’t cover his cost so he won’t do the work. So he do some market-research and find out what people are willing to pay for somewhat comparable product (like Rotablade or Torqbar which is considered the best in the market now) and the titanium products from those brands start somewhere from $150. Given Magnus only makes the best titanium, and only titanium products (or so we choose to believe so). therefore somewhere under $200 is pretty reasonable. Some people pay $30 for the bag , some people pay $3,000 for Chanel . Two bags do exactly same thing – put stuff inside of it – but people who is paying for it decide how it’s worth. $3,000 Chanel bag won’t worth $1,000 for me so I don’t pay that much money, but this spinner will worth $300 for me so I will pay $200. So you are the one who puts value on it. Decision is yours. Just like Magnus decided to put price tag under $200.
Good observation of how various makers can price things. In saying that …I am pricing based on low as I can go while still making the project feasible.
Looks Very classy, I look forward to its launch.
Good luck.
I’m quite interested in your Fidget Spinner but I do have one concern. I have quite large hands and long fingers and was wondering if it would be difficult to get those pleasant hard flicks that make a Spinner whirl crazy fast. I’m just worried I’ll buy it and it be satisfied by the size of it.
*unsatisfied*
Whoops ?
Does it includes box ?
Magnus which is better this spinner or the ego
Question on the bearing and the tolerance of the races etc. Since the buttons are sunk into the body itself, will there be enough clearance to insure no contact between the buttons and the body? The tolerance seems tight and I trust your machining but let’s say one were to prefer a different bearing? Like a OneDrop or whatever… will there be enough clearance built around the buttons to allow for some play without interference?
Also, not sure if it was answered (even though I read all the comments, I may have missed it) will there be serialization or not?
Thanks Magnus. Looking forward to the launch.
Looks like a Ferrari, Magnus. Very cool.
What happened to the tri-planed design? The one that was in your video and on the bottom left of the picture with the prototypes. I thought that was the best looking design out of all of them. This one just seems a little bland in comparison with just the flats.
Please pm me how to get this spinner, im sold.
Did you not read even a sentence of this page (quite literally in the first sentence under the video… lol)?
It is launching on Kickstarter when the timer above runs down…
What the is size/diameter of the caps (mm)… also what the the size/diameter of the actual concave part (again in mm) and how deep is the concave part?
I like large/wide caps with only a slight concave to it (I tend to not use the tips of my finger tips as much as the “palms” of my finger tips… if that makes sense).
So knowing this… will I find yours enjoyable/comfortable?
Oh also is the bearing an nice screw down threaded cap type or a press fit?
Also what bearing id you chose? I know R188 but just curious what you went with. I personally thought Tungsten Steels were my favorite but now I think I like Ceramic Hybrids with nylon cages. Really i like them all, they all have unique features… so not too worried about that as they wear and you need to replace them eventually anyways.
Sorry one more question. If the recent Ego pre-orders are expected to be done at the earliest by the end of this year… does that mean this Bar version might be a year or more away from being in people’s hands?
Magnus,
I’m a bit confused, as the Cogent Industries website show a tri-spinner called the Ego yet your video above shows a straight line 2 arm spinner. Which model will be available on Kickstarter on 7/26/17? Or will we have the option of 2 different choices? Since I really, Really, REALLY like the straight 2 arm spinner shown above I want to make sure I get on board for the correct model………
Or maybe I’ll just have to order both to have options, LOL
To impossibly high standards(which you seem to regularly achieve!!!)
Dave
I am not Magnus but this is very easy to answer. This first one (the tri one) he took early pre-orders for recently. This bar one is about to be posted up for sale/backing on kickstarter.
Hope that clears things up.
Brandon,
Thanks for the reply and for clearing up MY confusion. I am now a backer on the Kickstarter project for the bar spinner and I can’t wait to receive my spinner……I’m thinking about ordering the tri spinner from Magnus’s company website…….So much for patience, LOL
Dave
Hey Magnus,
I really want one of your spinners, but I’m not sure if I want the Ego or this one. Can you give your thoughts on the main usability differences? Ego is better for this, bar spinner is better for this….something like that. I’m not even a spinner enthusiast really – but if I’m going to get a spinner it might as well be the best one out there…but your offering two…!?!? I realize it’s a subjective question, but I need some help picking! It seems like you think the bar spinner is going to be more popular since it’s getting the Kickstarter treatment, maybe that’s the one I’ll be more likely to be happy with?
Please add me to your list!
You are already on it 🙂
I’m not into spinners. But I saw your pens on the photos shown here. So, I have to ask whether the original One pen will ever be made again and if so, when? 😛
Magnus,

Can backers of the tri get a deal on a package? ?
Hey bro good work on making the ultimate fidget spinner. How is getting the spinner
Can u add me on the list pls
Hi, I love this spinner but I can’t afford the 150$US. it’s way too much for a spinner. I’m ok to spend up to 50$.
BACKER #14
It’s 5AM in my hometown of Maryland, USA.
Stayed up all night just so I could say…
WOO HOO to You MAGNUS !!!
The campaign just started and wow, it must be a record — did it take more than a minute to be fully funded? At 400% after 10 minutes… Magnus, I’m in for two, congrats on your success, mate!
Magnus, can you add me to the list? Signed up many times on the main page but I never got emails. Also, are you planning to produce spinners other than the 2 you revealed so far?
Not sure what’s going on with the emails. I’m signed up and never received any emails about the launch either. If I hadn’t stumbled across a link someone posted on the spin space FB group an hour and half before the launch I probably would have missed it.
I wish you had a working Ego prototype so you can make a video showing the Ego and the Air side-by-side. I’m having a little difficulty deciding which I want. I currently have an Ego pre-order, but may consider pledging on the Air instead. Tough choice and not enough info!!
Magnus,
Will there be another run of the pens for the Mont Blanc refills?
I love the Mont Blanc writing experience, but prefer your pens.
Put me on your waiting list.
Hello,I would like to send you a 3d cad drawing.I would like you to make me a spinner similar to the drawing…since you have all the equipment to make this up for me.Do you have an email address that I can send it to?
Thanks,JR
Hello admin, i must say you have very interesting posts here.
Your blog should go viral. You need initial traffic only.
How to get it? Search for: Mertiso’s tips go viral
Hi Magnus will you able to consider making a cigar stand with titanium. As a cigar lover we commonly use it as we do not have suitable ash tray. You can check from web as “cigar siesta”
So for $150 “hypothetically” what does that get me – maybe I missed that post ….
Jumped on board. Really looks great. Please use a hybrid ceramic bearing without shields so we can clean it. Thanks for working so hard in this.
This spinner is a masterpiece! I really appreciate your tireless efforts to perfect every detail. Such quality is well worth the extra cost. I’ll close with a quote for you, Magnus:
“Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort.”
– John Ruskin
Looking forward to receiving the “Air” spinner as well as the “Ego”!
Excited for the click pen.
Hi Magnus,
Can’t believe I missed this. How can I sign up? Interested to get the titanium pen too. 🙂
Thank you.
Best,
Danny
Magnus,
Congrats on the spinner campaign, seemed like it was funded as soon as it started.
I a very interested in your pill pots, especially the larger diameters you made I believe they were 35 and 45mm.
I’ve been trying to find a flat top 28 mm 35 mm or 45 mm, is there any chance that you have any of these currently available or when will they be available in the future?
Thank you,
Jake
Magnus…do me a favor and spend less time Hawking your products and more time MAKING your products. I have suffered through multiple delays on your titanium pen with no explanation as to why.
So how many of them will there be and what will they cost
