Ego Spinner – Update 8

I’ve been tumbling, assembling and packing your Ego spinner this week.

The quality control is fairly strict and so a number of the spinners have had to go through a re-tumbling process – it’s the nature of the beast.

So, two things:

Firstly, my sincere apologies for my last “weekly” update being a number of weeks ago. I have no excuse other that generally being somewhat stressed-out with parts of the business (mainly have surface-finishing issues on a few different projects).

Secondly, shipping is almost there! I am just waiting for the last part of the packing to be finished (some “sleeves” to put the bamboo cases into). They should be finished next week (but I can’t guarantee that).

    Great Job Magnus! When sending to Germany please take care of correct declaration. You need a Description and warning notice for children and the CE sign on the spinner.

      That’s only true for toy spinners. Magnus’ spinners are not sold as children’s toys and Magnus is also not explicitly offering them to Germany (e.g. by running a German website etc.), so you are importing them to the EU and you are responsible which is most important if you are reselling it. Customs will look for CE signs on cheap toy spinners but not on this stuff. I received 2 quality spinners last week from LMS in the USA and when they read “fidget spinner” at customs they immediately said “I hope they have a CE sign” but when they saw that they were expensive stuff and no children’s toys (e.g. 30 plastic spinners intended for ebay sales) they did not mention it again. Did you ever have problems with that on importing “adult” spinners?

    I’ll have arthritis by the time I get to play with this spinner. Every time I inquire about shipment, I get short answers saying “soon”. I’m not sure anymore of what “soon” means

      Magnus, I ordered this as a gift for someone and I have waited patiently for months. It would have been nice to know that you were going to miss Christmas delivery prior to Christmas. I am starting to think that your “incredibly high standards” tagline is just a marketing gimmick.

      I was a big fan of yours and now the shine has worn off. SAD!

    I’m as eager to see these spinners shipped as the next bloke, but I assume Magnus has legitimate reasons for the delays. I’ll continue to remain patient rather than have him rush any part of the process.
    Also keep in mind guys, he’s experienced delays in a couple of his other projects as well. I’m sure he’s recieved plenty of impatient emails enquiring into planned shipment dates, and I’m sure he’s feeling the pressure.

      I’ve tried a few times with no response. I know he’s a one man show and has a lot on his plate. But a simple update would be nice. It is frustrating, but I’m still holding onto the fact that it will be of great quality. And if not, it’s going up for sale. lol

    I had really hoped to have my spinner by now but I’m obviously not as peeved as some other customers.
    I’m patiently waiting and I know it’ll be worth the wait.
    When ordering something that is manufactured by basically one guy, you gotta cut him a little slack.
    You knew full well what you were getting in to before you ordered.
    Yall are acting like the pic of the spinners is CG and Magnus is running away to new Zealand to spend all our money on even more luxurious spinners for himself
    Geez!!
    If anybody wants a refund, Magnus, I’ll take at least one of em (so I can have 2)

Anytime you preorder I’ve never seen someone that does updates like we have gotten. You will be happier when you get your spinner if you just patiently wait.       To be late or not in timeline will be fine with a good and short communication. Very short messages about timeline. Take all the time you need from myside but let me know about. πŸ˜‰

    Well, here we are, 2018. Almost 6 months since I paid for this spinner. 26 days since the last update. Come on Magnus. Give us some type of communication please. Seriously!

    Whoa whoa whoa. Simmer down everyone. I totally relate wanting to receive a product after you have paid for it. But I assume you are all adults as I am and I really don’t think my life is going to change one way or another if I am holding a fidget spinner in my hand. They do help me remain stress free but I’ll be damned if I’m going to berate a guy who continuously updates us even though the last update was 8 weeks ago. We will all be playing with our life changing fidgets spinner soon so take the high road on this 1 please. Magnus, I get the first one right?

      Hey Fred, make sure when u get your refund to tell Magnus to just add it to my order.I want that spinner that you want a refund on.
      Not sure how to work it out, but as long as it can be shipped to me with my other one from magnus, I’m all in.
      However I will not buy it from u… Only magnus… Sorry

      I’ve been refraining from getting negative about this, but I have to agree it’s a bit of a slap in the face to still have pre-orders available, after we’ve been waiting patiently for many months to recieve our spinners..

        I don’t get it. This guys spends months cultivating an audience and then he blows all of the credibility that he has built up by leaving us all hanging after the work is done because he is waiting on a sleeve for the bamboo case?

        I was a big fan of Magnus. Now I just get pissed off whenever I receive an email from him trying to sell me one of his new bottle openers…or the last chance to order an Ego Spinner. SAD!

    We have been faced with delays at most stages with the Ego Spinner but we are just about to ship.

    I spoke with Magnus yesterday and he expects to ship the Spinners tomorrow (Tuesday).

    My apologies for the delays and lack of updates.

    I received an email on 1/15/2017 with a tracking number for my Ego Spinner. I hope the finish is as shinny as the one that Magnus is selling on Kickstarter. The ones in the photo above look a bit dull. Hard to say, it could just be the lighting.

    My spinner shipped on 1/16/2018. It’s been 4 days and it’s not even to the airport yet. Can’t wait to see it go round and round. I have been tracking it as it moves like a snail across New Zealand.

    It’s a bit confusing. It is a untracked post (17.01.18) shipment and it only shows me the delivery to Auckland. Has the EGO already reached someone now? another courier has no registration on the specified number. i think that will stay at customs?
