Titanium Pen (Coming Soon…)

Yes, the rumors are true…

I’m launching a titanium pen on Kickstarter around 6 days from now.

Now, here’s the thing:

You probably know me well enough by now that I’m not one to hold back on telling you about new designs and how great they are… and perhaps going over-the-top a little. I am guilty of that. I won’t disagree.

Actually, before I continue, there’s something I must tell you about this titanium pen…

I’m sure you’re familiar with one of the products I produce — The TiClaw™ (click here if you’ve somehow missed it). There are two interesting things about the TiClaw™:

#1 – I created it purely for myself and decided to share it with you.

#2 – It is one of my most popular products and continues to sell and sell… and sell.

And here’s the weird thing:

#1 above is similar for this new titanium pen… I created it purely for myself because, well, I wanted the ultimate pen (which, of course had to be made from titanium).

I’m going to reveal a little more about it in the next day few days as we get close to the big launch day – so stay tuned…

P.S. Oh, almost forgot… I was talking above about how I’m occasionally guilty of perhaps being a little “full on” in promoting my products.

And, you know, I’m okay with that. 🙂

However, this up-and-coming titanium pen is something I will not push so hard. It’s something I made purely for me as the “ultimate” pen. The only pen I’ll ever need.

It’s taken a year of development and a prototyping process that would make lesser folks running scared.

But I’ve decided to share it with you… because I’m a helluva nice guy. 😀

  • Jeremy says:

I love titanium pens, though I already have one, if I have another I truly will not have a problem with that!

  • Vivek says:

Look forward to it being launched in KS

  • Benjamin says:

ready to see it! sneak peek??

  • Joe w says:

I was hoping for an image haha

  • John says:

“ultimate” pen is a grail…You, Magnus will hit this bullseye dead center with an “ultimate” pen…I am looking forward to you having an epic flood of responses!

    thank you!

  • Julian says:

Wow, I am excited. I have been waiting for you to make something I can convince myself to buy. Your latest projects, although beautifully crafted, proved no utility for me and that’s a must in any purchase I make. Can’t wait to see it!

  • Bob Gelb says:

OK…you peeked my interest…what does the titanium pen LOOK LIKE ?

  • Mike from Germany says:

OK, now that you have us all looking into your direction:
Show us the prototypes, will you?

  • Peter van Eijndhoven says:

    Hi Magnus,

Is it also possible to use as a stylus ?? 🙂 Say yes please 😀

  • stevej says:

Magnus, The TiTweezers are amazing! Thanks. If you can, set up your pen to accept the Fisher Space Pen refill and you will have a PERFECT writing instrument! Also, I am still very interested in TiChopsticks–round to square!

    • Thank you for your kind words Steve. The chopsticks are still at the research stage (they’re proving fairly tricky to be fair). Unfortunately this pen will not be able to hold the Fisher Space Pen refill.

  • John Adams says:

I’d rather then pen be flexible to take several cartridges via an insert system, like some of the other Ti pens out there. While Fisher has its pluses (if I ever have to write in extreme cold underwater), I find the G2 and the Mont Blanc cartridges to simply be superior in terms of smoothness, as well as finer lines of ink.

  • Achim says:

Was hoping for a pic too, lol. Looking forward to some more details!

  • Tom Anderson says:

Magnus, I totally agree with ‘stevej’ (above) that the pen should accept the Fisher Space Pen refill (Parker style). Also… so many shirts today have ‘short’ pockets and so many pens are just too tall for the clip to fully engage the pocket. I would suggest that the distance between the tip of the pen and the upper inside of the pocket clip come in somewhere between 10 – 11cm.

  • Roger Sharp says:

And ……. what does it look like?
    No picture, no interest!

  • John says:

I agree with Mr. Tom Anderson: important to have ” refill (Parker style). and… shirts with ‘short’ pockets ….so many pens are just too tall for the clip to fully engage the pocket. I would suggest that the distance between the tip of the pen and the upper inside of the pocket clip come in somewhere between 10 – 11cm.”

    Great recommendations from Mr. Andeson!

  • John says:

typo should read: Great recommendations from Mr. Anderson!

  • Bob Lukach says:

Bring it on Magnus! I can’t wait as I know it will be vastly better than any other Titanium pen out there!

  • Mike says:

    Ballpoint? Rollerball? Fountain?

  • Michael says:

Man, just ordered some HookUp clips and my budgets wiped for a while.

  • Man, oh, man…

I reckon I’m going to disappoint a number of people with this pen. But, you know, that’s okay.

It’s designed pretty much for the Mont Blanc FineLiner and RollerBall (two incredible refills that I find it near impossible to stop using!).

There is a chance I could offer other refills down the line – but, for now, this is a very specific pen with no extras or options or such.

    • Mike from Germany says:

      Yeah, come on.
A bolt action titanium pen featuring the Mont Blanc fineliner!

Something styled a little like a Felthoeller with a lot of “Magnus”poured into it, with an almost flush bolt mechanism, sturdy clip, stonewashed finish and the design lines of your Prymal.

Sounds like you’re soon to be the hero!

  • I will see if I can get some more details on the pen for you shortly.

Interestingly… this pen has two or three unique design features not seen on any other pens (that I have found).

    A prediction…

Some people may not like this pen… but, those who do like it, will fall head-over-heels in love with it and realise it’s the pen they’ve been searching for… for years. 🙂

    Simply put:

The pen will not be for everyone.

  • Matthias says:

    Hi Magnus,

please try also the incredible Uniball Jetstream. In my opinion there is no better writing pen than this. Much easier and lighter writing than with the Mont Blanc. While the length of the cartridge fits the Mont Blanc Rollerball refill its thinner and the tip differs a little bit. Maybe you can consider this by your design.

  • John says:

I am looking forward to the “….two or three unique design features not seen on any other pens.”

I will buy this pen regardless of rollerball refill it uses

  • Achim says:

Stop teasing us, Magnus! Pictures please! 🙂

  • kevin says:

Teaser trailers are cool, but they still include a minor snippet of things to come !!!

  • Man, okay, I’ll see if I can get something in the next day or so for you.

It might not be a photo of the whole pen because, well, I kinda want to just launch on Kickstarter.

A lot has gone into this pen. It could be unpopular. But that’s okay… because I’ve used it and I doubt I need to buy another pen ever again. 😀

  • John says:

I am sure it will be a hit, and I am looking forward to its production….

….be ready for the orders for the pens!.

  • Chuckkel says:

I hope that it is similar to a tactical pen, fitted with a Fisher Space Pen pressurized pen cartridge (Fine point Blue ) and a one-piece clickable pen tip.
